Abstract:The development of ultrasound imaging technology in head and neck section has played an increasingly important role in clinical diagnosis. In patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma, the ultrasound can detect the soft tissue and supply high resolution photography in the lateral pharyngeal wall and partial posterior pharyngeal wall, and then define the relationship between the tumor and ipsilateral parapharyngeal space, which provides a new method in the imaging diagnosis area. This article reviews the development of transcervical ultrasonography in its clinical application in nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
