Abstract Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic rate and value of CDFI in the diagnosis of lower extremity blood vessel lesion in type 2 diabetes. Methods: Ninety-one cases of type 2 diabetes patients and 41 cases of nondiabetes patients simultaneously examinated by CDFI and ABPI were observated. Results: Diabetic arteriosclerosis was diffuse or multisegmental while simple arteriosclerosis showed focal in bifurcation of blood vessel. Blood vessel lesion incidence in type 2 diabetes was significantly higher than control group(P<0.01). The rate of arteriosclerotic plaques was highest in femoral artery, stenosis and occlusion were mostly appeared in anterior tibial artery(P<0.05). Conclusions: CDFI is an effective method in detecting lower exteremity vasculature in type 2 diabetes patients and evaluating location, character and length of the lesion, and has important clinical values.
