Abstract Objective: To investigate the possibility of CT perfusion imaging applied to evaluate angiogenesis of pancreatic adenocarcinoma. Methods: CT perfusion imaging was performed in 21 cases of pancreatic adenocarcinoma and 11 healthy volunteers without pancreatic disease and perfusion parameters including BF and BV were obtained. The 21 cases of pancreatic adenocarcinoma and pancreatic normal tissue(normal tissue around adenocarcinoma) were all stained with streptavidin/peroxidase(SP) method. The VEGF and MVD of each sclice were quantified. Results: The mean CT values of pancreatic adenocarcinomatic perfusion including BF and BV were lower than that of normal pancreatic perfusion, and there was statistical significance(P<0.01). The expression of MVD and VEGF in pancreatic adenocarcinoma was higher than that in pancreatic normal tissue, and there was statistical significance(P<0.01). Conclusion: CT perfusion imaging of pancreatic adenocarcinoma could not truly reflect angiogenesis of pancreatic adenocarcinoma.
