Abstract Objective: To study the MR imaging of the synovium changes in knee joints with degenerative osteoarthrosis. Methods: The MRI findings were retrospectively analyzed in 20 patients with degenerative osteoarthrosis in knee joints confirmed by operation finding and arthroscopy. The synovium changes were mainly studied. Results: Edema of synovium was found in 20 cases, hydrarthrosis in 20 cases, proliferation of synovium in 13 cases, ossification of synovium in 1 case, synovial joint body in 1 case. Conclusion: The synovium changes were important manifestations in the degenerative osteoarthrosis of the knee joints and it could be clearly demonstrated by MR examination and is of important value in management of degenerative osteoarthrosis in knee joints.
