Abstract:Objective: To compare the changes of global and regional left ventricular function parameter before and after coronary artery stenting by using 99mTc-MIBI gated myocardial perfusion imaging(G-MPI) and to evaluate coronary artery stenting effect. Methods: The values of end-diastolic volume(EDV), end-systolic volume(ESV), left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) and regional wall motion were assessed by rest G-MPI before and 1 to 6 months after coronary artery stenting in 27 patients. All patients were divided into two groups: Group I(12 cases) involved patients with left ventricular dysfunction(LVEF≤45%); the rest were included in groupⅡ(15 cases). Results: ①After coronary artery stenting, the values of EDV and ESV were decreased markedly(P<0.01), LVEF was increased(P<0.05) compared with preoperation in group I. On the contrary, there were no significant changes of these indexes(P>0.05) in groupⅡ. ②There were 93(82.3%), segments improved postoperatively in mild and moderate hypokinesia, 12(29.3%) segments improved in severe hypokinesia, and 3(15.7%) in akinesia. Conclusion: G-MPI is an excellent tool to evaluate the effect of stent implantation, and suitable for long term follow-up.
