Abstract:Objective: To explore the value of echo-tracking(ET) technology in evaluating vascular function of kidney transplant patients. Methods: Using ET technique, the carotid elastic index Ep, β, AC in 91 kidney transplant patients and 60 normal adults were calculated and analyzed. Results: Compared with normal adults, the carotid artery Ep, β, and AC of transplant patients were different. There was difference between kidney transplant patients with and without hypertension. Conclusions: The carotid artery elasticity was decreased in kidney transplant patients, espespecially with hypertension, so that ET can be used to detect arterial elasticity early and may assess it quantitatively.
