Abstract Objective: To assess the effects of left bundle branch block on interventricular asynchrony in chronic heart failure. Methods: There were three groups. Chronic heart failure without intraventricular conduction delay and chronic heart failure with complete bundle branch block were compared with healthy individuals. Pulse tissue Doppler imaging(TDI) was performed to measure the time of electromechanical motion of left and right ventricular lateral wall in systole on atrial-ventricular annulus with mapping techniques. Pre-ejection contraction time of left and right ventricles were recorded with pulsed-wave Doppler(PW). Results: Interventricular electromechanical delay time in systole and interventricular ejection delay time increased in chronic heart failure with complete bundle branch block compared with healthy individuals and chronic heart failure without interventricular conduction delay. Conclusions: Interventricular asynchrony can be assessed with TDI and PW Doppler, which can provide good evidence for treatment of chronic heart failure.
