Abstract Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic value of color Doppler ultrasound in giant cell tumor of bone(GCT). Methods: Thirty-nine patients with GCT were examined with 2D ultrasound and color Doppler ultrasound. The echo characteristics, distribution of blood flow and hemodynamic changes of blood flow in the lesions were observed retrospectively. The hemodynanic parameters were studied according to the Campanacci scale. Results: The peak systolic velocity(PSV) did not differ(P>0.05), end diastolic velocity(EDV) in band I were significantly lower than those in band III(P<0.05). Resistance index(RI) in band I were significantly higher than those in band II or III(P<0.05). There was no significant difference between band II and III(P>0.05). Conclusion: Observing the features of lesion and hemodynamic parameters by 2D ultrasonography and CDFI has important value in diagnosing GCT and distinguishing the clinical band.
