Abstract Objective: To study the diagnostic value of 3D color Doppler energy(3D-CDE) in differentiating malignant from benign bone tumors. Methods: To compare the results of 3D-CDE with pathological findings in 56 patients with bone tumors. Results: The pathological findings showed that 27 cases were malignant and 29 cases were benign. The 3D-CDE features of benign cases were no blood flow within most of the lesion 82.8%(24/29) while in most malignant cases these were rich blood flow within the lesion 77.8%(21/27), in which irregularly circuitous blood vessels could be seen. Conclusion: 3D-CDE is valuable in differentiating malignant bone tumors from benign ones and estimating the blood flow of tumors.
