Abstract:Objective: To study the MRI features of hepatic hydatid cyst, to evaluate MRI in its diagnosis. Methods: MRI features in 23 patients with surgically-proved hepatic hydatid disease were retrospectively analyzed, and compared with pathologic findings. Results: All twenty-two but one cases were correctly diagnosed. Preoperative diagnostic accuracy of MRI was 95.65%(22/23). Conclusion: MRI is of high value for the diagnosis of hepatic hydatid cyst. It should be regarded as an effective supplement to CT and sonography.
