Abstract:Objective: To investigate the value of color Doppler ultrasonography in the diagnosis of intestinal obstruction result from different non-tumor causes and summarize the features of those ultrasonograms. Methods: To analyze retrospectively the abdominal ultrasonography results of 205 cases of non-tumor intestinal obstruction which were later confirmed by surgery, which included the diameter of intestine pipes, the thickness of intestinal walls, the echo of intestinal walls, the scope of lesion, the intestinal peristalsis, the blood supply of intestinal walls and mesentery etc. Results: To diagnose accurately the causes of non-tumor intestinal obstruction 180 cases among 205 cases by ultrasonography, diagnose accordance rate 87.8%(180/205); missed diagnose and misdiagnose rate 12.2%(25/205); all cases were later confirmed by surgery. Conclusions: Abdominal ultrasonography is accurate and dependable to diagnose non-tumor intestinal obstruction and those causes because it can provide objective imageology evidences for clinician, so it can serve as a routine examination for non-tumor intestinal obstruction.
