Abstract:Objective: To evaluate the fractional anisotrophy(FA) value of white matter in patients with amnestic mild cognitive impairment(aMCI) and normal controls(NC) with diffusion tensor imaging(DTI) on 3.0T MR. Methods: Twenty-eight NC and 28 aMCI who were diagnosed with Montreal cognitive assessment(MoCA) and minimental state examination(MMSE) scores underwent conventional MRI and DTI. FA values were measured in different brain regions with FiberTrak Package and then were compared between the two groups. Results: FA value decreased in both sides of parahippocampal gyrus, genu and splenium of corpus callusum in patients with aMCI. Conclusions: Changes in the microstructure of the white matter integrity can be observed in patients with aMCI, indicating that the DTI examination is helpful for early diagnosis of aMCI.
