Abstract:Objective: To investigate left atrial parameters and its effective factors by left atrial tracking in healthy adults. Methods: 202 randomly elected nornmal healthy adults underwent echocardiography, 99 were male with mean age (41.5±12.5) years old, 102 were female with mean age (44.9±13.1) years old. The left atrial endocardial surface was traced by left atrial tracking(LA Tracking), to obtained long-axis length-time curve of left atrium, circumference-time curve, area-time curve, volume-time curve, volume change rate curves of left atrium. Then measure maximum long-axis length of left atrium(LALmax), minimum long-axis length(LALmin), maximum circumference(LACmax), minimum circumference(LACmin), maximum area(LAAmax), minimum area(LAAmin), maximum volume(LAVmax), minimum volume(LAVmin), pre-systolic volume(LAVp), systolic illing rate(dv/dt S), early diastolic emptying rate(dv/dt E), emptying peak fraction at late left ventricular diastolic(dv/dtA), normal value ranges were drew from the above parameters, and then research the above mentioned parameters, which standardized by body surface area(BSA), whether affected with gender and age. Results: The differences of left atrial parameters between male group and female group had no significance statistically(P>0.05). All parameters in each age groups were significant statistically(P<0.05), and these parameters increased with age. Conclusion: The parameters of normal left atrium increase with age by left atrial tracking, but not with gender. LA Tracking, as a new technology, has certain feasibility on left atrial normal configuration and function.Atrial function, left; Ultrasonography, Doppler, color
