Abstract:Objective: To explore CT features of the vast multilocular cystic nephroma and carcinoma of kidney and their differential diagnosis. Methods: Three cases of vast multilocular cystic nephroma and 13 cases of carcinoma of kidney were retrospectively analyzed by comparing the imaging of CT findings with surgical operation. Results: All the vast multilocular cystic nephromas were entirely composed of locules and septa without solid nodules. Carcinoma of kidney mostly destroyed the renal parenchyma. Conclusion: Vast multilocular cystic nephroma is multilocular cysts and is arranged in order, the septa is smooth and with very clear border. Vast carcinoma of kidney do have clear border with no intact renal parenchyma, liquifiction, necrosis and cystic formation are the features of CT imaging. These are the main features which can be distinguished from the vast multilocular cystic nephroma.
