Abstract:Objective: To investigate the role of CTA examination in displaying the anomalous origin of coronary artery, and showing the classification and the clinical significance based on CTA in detecting this disease. Materials and Methods: Coronary CTA examinations were performed in 25 596 cases by 64 multi-slice spiral CT. Volume rendering, multi planar and curved surface reconstruction and maximum intensity projection were used to analyze the origin of the coronary artery. Results: The anomalous origin of coronary artery was found in 263 cases, including 171 cases of anomalous origin of right coronary artery, 86 cases of anomalous origin of left coronary artery, and 6 cases of double sinus malformation. According to the comprehensive analysis of the classification and the clinical manifestation of this disease, we modified the previous classification. Conclusion: CTA could display various types of anomalous origin of the coronary artery clearly, showing great importance in guiding clinical practice.
